- 1 Create a Norton account Open my.norton.com in Safari and create an account. Enable 2FA right after.
- 2 Download the installer Click "Download Norton 360" in the dashboard and save the DMG (~150 MB).
- 3 Open the installer and run through the wizard Double-click the DMG, run "Install Norton Security". When prompted, enter your Mac admin password.
- 4 Approve the system extension macOS blocks Norton's kernel extension on first install. Click "Open System Settings" in the dialog → Privacy & Security → "Allow" next to "Symantec". Reboot the Mac if asked.
- 5 Grant Full Disk Access In System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access, tick Norton. Without this, Norton can't scan protected areas.
- 6 Run a quick scan Open Norton → "Security" → "Quick Scan". Takes 5–10 minutes. Optionally turn on the Secure VPN under "Online Privacy".
