Independence despite affiliate funding

Our rankings follow the criteria we publish under "How we test". The size of an affiliate commission never feeds into the score. Vendors without an affiliate program stay on equal footing in the comparison.

No paid placements

We do not sell top spots. The order of products in our tables emerges solely from score, category match, and freshness — never from commercial agreements.

Affiliate-link transparency

Affiliate links carry a visible "affiliate link" hint directly under the button. Technically they are tagged rel="nofollow sponsored noopener" and open in a new tab.

Freshness promise

We check prices at least monthly and test scores quarterly. Every page has a visible "reviewed on" date. Stale recommendations are actively refreshed or removed.

Corrections

We correct mistakes openly. Substantial corrections are timestamped in the content. Reader and vendor feedback is welcome and reviewed promptly.

Sources

Wherever possible we work with primary sources: independent test labs (AV-Test, AV-Comparatives), state bodies (NCSC), official vendor documentation. External claims are tagged and linked to the original source.
