A standardized identifier for publicly disclosed security flaws – format: CVE-year-number.
CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) is a standardised identifier for publicly disclosed security flaws. Format: CVE-year-number, e.g. CVE-2026-1234. The database is maintained by MITRE.
NCSC and national CERTs reference CVE numbers in their advisories; each is scored for severity (CVSS 0–10).
